  • O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you;
    my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

    So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
    beholding your power and glory.

    My lips will praise you,
    for your steadfast love is better than life.
    So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.

    My soul will be satisfied as with rich food,
    and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
    when I remember you upon my bed,
    and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
    for you have been my help,
    and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

    My soul clings to you.
    Your right hand holds me up.

    Psalm 63

  • Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God, you who have done great things. Who, O God, is like you?

    You have made me see troubles, many and bitter.

    But you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

    I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you-- I, whom you have redeemed. My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.

    Psalm 71:19-24

    The psalmist is heaped with bitter troubles.  His response?  To declare the faithfulness of God - "You will restore me!  You will bless me!"  Before he sees God's faithfulness, he declares "You are faithful!"   He is heaped with bitter troubles, so he opens his mouth and proclaims, "God is good!  You are my protector.  You have done great things.  You are incomparable."

  • Happy Birthday, Katie and Nathan!!!!

    My Fabu-wonderful counsins just left me after a lovely lovely weekend together.  We did a thousand things.  Finally saw all the sights around Oxford that tourists see but I never thought I had time to see.  Blenheim Palace, the Kilns, even a girl-eating tree.  We punted, ate too many doughnuts for our own good, and went to a student production we were certain had to be the best in the world because it had been sold out the night before....

    We did a dozen other things, but the best part was hang out with two wonderful people whom I love dearly.  A living care package from home!  Thank you!

    Happy Birthday, Katie and Nathan!!!!!

  • Hello.  This post is simply to say that I will post again (with pictures) in the near future or not so near future or distant future... with the highest probability on the former... but no guarantees....

    Leave a comment telling me in 2+ sentences how you are doing and what you are up to (even if I know already).  The more comments I get, the sooner I will post a blog entry.

    How's that for bribery!
